Powdered Eggs Anyone? The BEST deal in town!!

Where should you shop for the best holiday grocery bargains? Watch KSL Channel 5 tonight at 10 p.m. to see my interview with Channel 5. We went shopping at Maceys and I helped them see how much money families can save by watching the ads of the local grocery stores and comparing prices to Costco, Walmart and Sam's Club. Many people shop at these 'big box' stores assuming they are getting the best deals. While they do have a few items that have lower everyday prices, if you are patient and watch the sales from your local grocery stores, you can save MUCH more than you would shopping at these stores on a regular basis.

Don't want to take the time to compare prices to all of the grocery stores? That is why Deals to Meals is here to save the day! Try our service for FREE for 2 weeks and see how much time and money you can save by knowing which items to buy each week and which ones to add to your storage. Plus, you have the added bonus of having your meals planned for you around the sale items each week. A win-win for everyone! Visit our website for more information www.dealstomeals.com

Now...powdered eggs and milk anyone?
November is almost over and the time is ticking for you to get your 3 month supply of powdered eggs and milk--as part of our monthly Positively Preparing posts. I have some of the BEST news in town for Utah residents who are still in need of powdered eggs and milk. I am SO excited to share this information with you I can hardly stand it!! All month I have been searching for the best price on powdered eggs and milk so I could put together an order for my neighborhood friends. I was getting discouraged as powdered eggs were ranging from $16.99-$23 a can. For many families this price point would not allow for a large order of this item. Until....I called the Augason Farms outlet store in SLC and found out about their AMAZINGLY STUPENDOUS sale on powdered eggs that ends December 10th. They are having their Augason Farms Whole Powdered Eggs on sale for Buy 1 Get 1 FREE....ahhh! Can you believe that? So, you can get 2 #10 cans (36 oz.) of eggs for $17.50 ($16.99 + tax). For those of you who know prices, this sale is out of this world good!! So..if you live anywhere near SLC (3300 South, just off of the freeway), run into their store and take advantage of this sale before the 10th of December. Sorry, for those outside of Utah, the sale is not valid online ;(

They are also having a sale on their Morning Moo Milk Alternate in the #10 cans or the 50 lb. bag for buy 1 get 1 half off. GREAT deal if you want this product in your food storage.

Have fun shopping and taking advantage of this fabulous deal!! Remember, each month I give delicious recipes that help you use the items you are storing in your food storage. The recipes for powdered milk and eggs this month are wonderful!!

**You may want to call before you go and make sure they have what you need in stock before you make the trip. They are crazy busy and this post probably won't help them slow down :)

What is the shelf-life on powdered eggs? And do they need to be refrigerated after opening?

Unopened in the #10 can they will last 10 years. Once opened you keep them in your pantry and they will last for up to 1 year.

Very sad East-coaster-no-retail-stores-around here!

I so wish someone would sell food storage (like Auguson Farms) at retail stores here in the east!

Believe me, people on the east coast are realizing the importance of food storage.

Just wanted to let any other people who don't have access to retail stores like this can purchase Auguson Farms from Sam's club online now.

Prices are still not as good as in-store sales, but they are not terrible. I think 2 #10 cans of eggs is $25

I can't make the link to the milk Positively Preparing page work. How much do you recommend for the milk/eggs for a three month supply?

Thanks for doing this -- it is really helping me to get going!

Sorry, I will fix that :)

3 month supply of milk is 4-5 lbs. per person and a 3 mo. supply of eggs is around 1/4-1/3 of a can per person.

A year supply of milk is 16 lbs. per person and for eggs it is around 1 can. These totals may vary depending on how often you will be rotating through these items in your everyday cooking needs.

Auguson Farms just got a new crate of whole powdered eggs today. They ran out yesterday. We just bought whole powdered eggs and powdered scrambled eggs. So excited! I can't believe the price! Thanks for the heads up.

Samsclub carries Augason farms online sales. Currently their canned instant milk is like $9.10 a can and their powdered eggs are 12.59 a can plus shipping. Still not bad, less than the companies website.
