Applesauce Cake

My sister in law introduced this recipe into our family and it was an immediate hit. Especially during this time of year when anything with apples, cinnamon, nutmeg and cream taste delightful! This cake is best served warm with the cream drizzle over the top. You can also top it off with whipping cream. This cake is light and absolutely delicious, you'll love it for any holiday party.



Applesauce Cake

1 c. brown sugar


½ c. butter, softened


Cream together and then add


2 eggs


2 tsp. vanilla


2 tsp. baking soda


1 tsp. salt


2 tsp. cinnamon


1 tsp. nutmeg


2 c. flour


2 c. applesauce


Mix all together. Bake 350 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean from the center.


Cream Sauce:


½ c. butter


1 c. sugar


½ c. whipping cream or milk


Microwave until sugar is melted. Serve hot cake with glaze on the top.
