Perfect Sugar Cookies

>> Saturday, October 27, 2012

Twice a year I indulge my children and we make several batches of sugar cookies. Valentines and Halloween are sugar cookie season for me, and by the time we are done frosting, licking, eating and sampling sugar cookies I don't want to see another one until February! Full stomach or not, these sour cream sugar cookies are my absolute favorite recipe for sugar cookies. They are soft, sweet and moist. The butter flavoring in the recipe also makes for an added richness and extra flavor. Make the frosting and color different colors to make your favorite 'spooky' Halloween treats ;)

Oh my word... I just came to your website to see if you had a good sugar cookie recipe. Low and behold you had just posted this. I take that as a sign. :)

Those sugar cookies look so great! When you say "butter flavoring", what is that? Is it something where all the extracts are, like vanilla? Thanks for sharing your recipe!

That's great Emily! I hope you enjoy this recipe :)

Jodie, yes you can get butter flavoring by the spice section where vanilla and all of the extracts are. If you can't find it you can leave it out, it just gives it a little extra rich flavor.

Enjoy!
